When you use a payment card (Inspired Card included) for pay at the pump transactions there is an amount that is "pre-authorized" and then released when the final amount of your transaction is known. Gas station pre-authorizations range from $50-$150...even for smaller transactions. 😔
If you check your transaction list in your Inspired app, you’ll see that it’s showing in real-time with your final amount. It just takes a bit longer to fully process with the bank of your linked funding card. Once the actual purchase amount is processed, the pre-authorized hold amount will be released and you'll see the actual amount of your gas purchase on your bank listing too. The funds subject to the hold will not be available until the transaction has fully completed or until after the hold expires - typically no later than seven days for most merchant transactions. (It's usually complete in a day or so!)
Paying inside for gas does not require the same pre-authorization from the gas station, so that's always a good option to avoid the temporary hold of funds!! 🙌
